If you got to decide the borders of the "Bay Area," what would they be? (FWO Clothing/Flickr)

We talk a lot about the Bay Area, but many people disagree on what cities, towns and parks it encompasses. Sometimes it is defined it as all counties that touch the San Francisco Bay. Others think it's only metro areas along the water.

We want to hear: How do you define the Bay Area? How would you draw its borders? Is Napa the Bay Area? Is Santa Cruz the Bay Area? Is it defined by certain cultures, or geography or landmarks? Is it defined by fog?

Here's what you need to do:

  1. Come up with your definition of the Bay Area.
  2. Use the voice memo app on your phone to record yourself reading the script below. Be sure to record in a quiet place, and hold the phone about 6-8 inches from your mouth.
  3. Email the voice memo to baycurious@kqed.org.

Your script: “Hi! I’m [your name here] from [city you live in]. I define the Bay Area as [your definition here]. Bay Curious is made in San Francisco at KQED.”

It's that easy! If you have anything else you want to tell us — about the Bay Area, who you are or what you think about the show — feel free to keep talking and include those comments at the end of the recording.
