Oakland singer-songwriter Emily Afton makes utterly charming electro-folk. She just put out her first album, and her songs seem wary of life, but are still positive. On “Lost,” she sings, “Yeah I’m lost but I know that I’ll be fine.”

My co-host Tomás Riley notes that fans of the CW show Riverdale, about the Archie Comics crew, might recognize Afton’s work from season one. “Lost” provided the atmosphere for one of the more tender moments between Jugghead and Betty. Here’s hoping more people discover her talent.

Afton plays Songbird Studios in San Francisco March 23. Details here. And then she’s at The Ritz in San Jose March 24. Details here.
