Lizzo sings about being happy with how you look and who you are. That sort of self-love does not always come easy in this world for a plus-size black woman, but then Lizzo is no ordinary singer. She started as a rapper in Houston, shrugging off a church upbringing, then moved to Minneapolis and worked with Prince. She now hosts a live music show on MTV called Wonderland.
