Time to update your tailgate playlist — when the 49ers host the Lions in the NFC Championship this Sunday, there’ll be a new Niners anthem in town.

Saweetie and P-Lo have dropped “Do It For the Bay,” just in time for Brock Purdy to (hopefully) drive the team (12-5) to their first Super Bowl in five years.

Saweetie, who was born in Santa Clara, said in a statement, “I love that we were able to collaborate and make something that’s so Bay-triotic, as P-Lo would say.”

The song and video were made with the support of the 49ers, who in recent years have inspired impromptu tailgate concerts by Bay Area rappers like San Quinn, RBL Posse and J. Diggs outside Levi’s Stadium. Close listeners will recognize elements of the beat previously used in two Bay Area rap hits: Lil Blood’s “3rd World” and Lil B’s “Bitch Mob.”

And yes, that’s E-40 in the video at the one-minute mark. “Word to uncle 40, you know it’s Bang Bang,” P-Lo raps in homage, while E-40’s “Niner Gang” — not to be forgotten — is interpolated for the song’s intro and outro.
