President Trump says his government is looking into Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf after she warned the public about an impending immigration raid.

Trump said during a Cabinet meeting Wednesday that "what the mayor of Oakland did the other day was a disgrace."

"It's certainly something that we're looking at with respect to her individually," he said.

According to the Mercury News, Trump added, "What she did is incredible and very dangerous from the standpoint of ICE and border patrol. Very dangerous. She really made law enforcement much more dangerous than it had to be. So we are looking at that situation very carefully.”

He said immigration authorities were ready to take 1,000 people off the streets but Schaaf's warning led them to scatter, with more than 800 avoiding arrest. Ultimately, 232 arrests were made in Northern California.

The president went on to criticize "sanctuary cities," and said Congress should pass legislation that would strip funding from localities that don't cooperate with federal immigration authorities.

"If you want the money, you can't have the sanctuary cities," he said.
