Upward of 98% of asylum-seeking families in San Francisco's immigration court attend every hearing, according to a new analysis.
If you look at those with legal representation, that figure rises to nearly 100%, a far cry from the acting Homeland Security chief's claim that 90% of asylum-seekers nationwide do not show up for their deportation hearings.
Maybe a welcoming sanctuary city with plenty of legal aid for asylum-seekers isn't such a bad idea after all.
