Michael Krasny hosted KQED's call-in public affairs program Forum for the first time on Feb. 15, 1993 - 20 years ago today. During that first show, he promised to continue the program's commitment to in-depth news and political programming while opening up "new vistas in the arts...and the life of the mind." Over the past two decades Krasny has become a Bay Area icon by conducting hundreds of interviews with subjects ranging from world leaders and Hollywood stars to local residents working to make a difference in the community.

KQED is marking Krasny's anniversary in two ways today. At 10 a.m. he'd moved out of his host's chair to join Forum as a guest for an interview with Dave Iverson about his life and career. That show will be archived here. After, he took questions from fans in a special online chat.
