Bianca Taylor, host of KQED’s regional edition of the Consider This podcast, was recognized as one of the “Rising Stars in Public Media, by the public media trade publication Current in an article published today.

Taylor was one of 22 professionals recognized with this distinction for their “ideas and skills (that) are redefining public media”. Current’s new initiative shines “a spotlight on public media’s . . . early- to mid-career professionals who are making a difference for public media organizations and audiences.”

Taylor was nominated by her colleagues, who commented: “Bianca strives to stretch herself and public media into new spaces. She has been one of the forces behind some of KQED’s new efforts, including interactive audio. She also brings a sense of joy and delight to her work, producing stories that highlight the best parts of our evolving culture here in California. And she is always eager to understand and lift up the voices and interests of colleagues.

In addition to Taylor’s role as host of the Consider This podcast, she’s the Producer on KQED’s team that leads emerging audio projects for new technologies like smart speakers. She also reports original features for news and KQED’s The California Report Magazine. Consider This can be found here or wherever you get your podcasts.
