After a year defined by distance, it’s never been more clear that we need each other to survive and thrive. At KQED we’ve seen our community continue to gather via virtual events, call to discuss our collective trials and concerns and give generously in a difficult time. We’re so thankful for all the partners--more than 500 individuals and foundations to date over seven years--whose investments continue to make Campaign 21 possible. We asked a few of them to tell you, in their own words, why this campaign - and the future of KQED - is worthy of their support.
Lois DeDomenico
“I’m supporting Campaign 21 because of the increased focus on the community. This new building is going to change both the face of KQED and also its role in the community. To really make space for and invite the community into KQED’s home represents a new era for the organization that I am very excited about. The idea of partnership and building new programming with other organizations in this beautiful new building just really grabbed me, and I’m so proud to support it."
-- Lois DeDomenico has supported KQED as a member, friend and supporter for decades. She played a major role in helping us with our original move into 2601 Mariposa, our headquarters currently undergoing renovation.
Juanita Tamayo Lott
“As a long-time KQED fan, I appreciate solid, timely, local news and community events with Bay Area reporters. The political, health and economic crises of 2020 and challenges for 2021 mandate -- more than ever -- high quality, local, independent media coverage, of which KQED is a leader."
-- Juanita Tamayo Lott is one of our most recent Campaign 21 donors and can regularly be found enjoying one of our exclusive, virtual, donor events from her home.
