The main entrance will be relocated to the corner of Mariposa and Bryant streets, with a more accessible and welcoming lobby for visitors. Elevators or stairs take visitors to the second floor reception. Once visitors have checked in they will be able to visit The Commons – KQED’s new flexible event and production space, the Green Room, Master Control and more broadcast and production spaces.
KQED’s reconfigured News Room is now centrally located and easily accessed by all departments via the central stairway. Visitors and staff alike can gather or work with flexible seating throughout many common areas in the building. Many new spaces include private meeting/phone rooms as well as creative spaces dedicated for digital-first production, user testing, community meetings and more.
The roof level features a large meeting and event space and outdoor terrace with flexible seating and work areas.
