Internship Program

KQED offers a robust internship program in our San Francisco headquarters. This program provides an opportunity for anyone (yes, anyone!) with a passion for public media to gain valuable exposure to areas of our business that support KQED’s mission, goals and objectives. Interns are exposed to meaningful conversations and get to know the ins and outs of public media. Our internship program provides opportunities to learn and experience elements of the broadcast communications industry while working alongside incredibly talented interns and staff members. As a KQED intern, you have the opportunity to make valuable contributions and have a direct impact on the work we do.

Internship Calendar

We offer internship opportunities twice a year for a period of 6 months each in a wide variety of different departments including News, Science, Arts, TV, Education, Marketing, Design, and Corporate Sponsorship.

We start recruiting approximately 2 months prior to the beginning of each session. All interns are paid minimum wage and work approximately 16 hours per week, Monday through Friday. We’re more than happy to accommodate your schedule as best as we can.

  • January through mid June
  • Mid June and through December

You can find us at career fairs on college campuses throughout the Bay Area. Stop by and say hello!
