Have you ever been to a library where you can eat, laugh as LOUD as you want, or play video games and guitar? San Francisco’s only youth-designed teen learning space, The Mix is a center for youth ages 13-18. It has state-of-the-art digital media production spaces, a music recording studio, a maker space, and the latest video games and Manga.

Rohan excitedly poses with his mediocre prizes.
(left to right) Kayen Manovil, Binnie, and Rohan play with musical instruments at The Mix.

You can even find safer sex supplies and period products in a private bathroom, and other helpful resources. In 2015, a group of teens designed The Mix with money from a MacArthur Foundation grant, with the idea to create free and accessible hubs for out-of-school learning in public libraries nationwide for teens.

Our host, Kayen, and contestants Rohan and Binnie explore The Mix and all it has to offer, all while competing for the ultimate, mediocre prize. Only one person can win – find out who it is!
