A Soy Story
The humble soybean has gone from resilient legume to a versatile global commodity and, more recently, a supervillain in the plant-based discourse.
Join the Center for Asian American Media (CAAM) for a journey through the culinary landscape of soy in the Asian Diaspora. Experience a night of tastings and storytelling with local chefs, including Steve Joo of Joodooboo, and eco-educator Aileen Suzara; tasty bites by QT Việt Cafe; and artist Dohee Lee. Listen to the journey of modern-day cultivators at Second Generation Seeds and farmer Kristyn Leach of Namu Farms, who reminds us that seeds carry with them histories transported through generations and across borders; caring for them is to nurture our connection to each other.
