We caught up with Nancy Pelosi walking the halls of KQED after her Forum interview earlier this month. We couldn’t miss an opportunity to ask her the most pertinent follow-up question of all: What Bay Area meal will help fuel us through this election season?
Pelosi didn’t miss a beat before responding pizza.
Pizza? Not the dish most would associate with the Bay Area and it got us thinking. What is Bay Area pizza? We asked our followers on KQED Food’s Instagram account for their take on what defines local pizza. Some of you said sourdough crust, others said fresh toppings. We took to the streets to try some of your suggestions for ourselves, including Cheese Board in North Berkeley and Golden Boy in North Beach.
