Although it’s the world’s fastest-growing energy source, solar accounts for only about two percent of global energy consumption. But according to researcher Varun Sivaram, solar could supply as much as a third of the world’s electricity by 2050 with the right set of policy changes. Sivaram joins Forum to discuss his new book, “Taming the Sun,” in which he outlines the technological, financial and systemic innovations he thinks are needed to realize solar’s potential.
