San Francisco police shot and killed a man in the city’s Bayview district on Wednesday night. Video of the incident was posted online and has stirred debate as to whether the victim Mario Woods, who was suspected of an earlier stabbing, posed a viable threat to officer safety. According to police chief Greg Suhr, officers opened fire on Woods after he refused to drop a knife. The shooting happened the same night San Francisco’s police commission debated details of its body camera policy.
