Former state Sen. Mark Leno conceded the San Francisco mayoral race to Supervisor London Breed Wednesday after nine days of ranked choice vote counts.
Leno congratulated Breed. "Her success is San Francisco's success," he said. Breed also thanked voters and the other mayoral candidates at an afternoon press conference on the steps of city hall.
The San Francisco Department of Elections still needs to count thousands of ballots and certify the election by July 5.
