Cal Fire’s official investigation found that last November’s Camp Fire — the deadliest and most destructive in California history — was in fact started by PG&E power lines.

The wildfire burned into the communities of Paradise, Concow and Magalia, destroying nearly 14,000 homes and killing 85 people.

PG&E reported last December that there were signs of electrical arcing and damaged equipment on a steel transmission tower near where the fire originated.

Previous Cal Fire investigations have determined that PG&E equipment was responsible for 18 of the wildfires that swept the North Bay in 2017.
