LA to Vote Tomorrow on Tax to Fund Public Schools

Los Angeles public school advocates went door to door this weekend pushing for a new parcel tax. Measure EE on the Tuesday ballot aims to fund the LA Unified School District by adding a 16 cent tax to every square foot of developed property. It's an outgrowth of January's teacher strike.

LA Mayor Eric Garcetti Makes the Case for Measure EE to Fund Public Schools

There's a big vote in Los Angeles tomorrow, but just one thing on the ballot: Measure EE. It would add a 16 cent tax to each square foot of developed property. It came out of the deal between the Los Angeles Unified School District and the teachers' union as a way to fund smaller classes, more staff and better pay when teachers went on strike back in January. The idea is to raise about $500 million annually.
