San Jose Mayor-Elect Sam Liccardo
It took a week of ballot counting after the polls closed, but a winner has been declared in the San Jose mayor's race: City Councilman Sam Liccardo beat out Santa Clara County Supervisor Dave Cortese by a slim margin. A major issue from the campaign was Liccardo's support of voter-approved pension reforms, a stance that angered the police union. One of the mayor-elect's challenges will be to mend that rift as he works to move San Jose forward. Sam Liccardo speaks with senior correspondent Scott Shafer.

Surveillance Guidelines
A new ACLU report finds numerous cities and counties throughout California are using or testing surveillance technology, often without any public input. This week San Jose had its first community hearing on the police department's quiet purchase of a drone. Police say the drone, not yet in use, is primarily there to help the bomb squad keep officers out of harm's way. Opponents consider it a move toward a surveillance state. The revelations are prompting concerns about privacy and calls for new guidelines on how the technology should be used.

War Ink
As we honored our nation's military men and women for Veteran's Day on Tuesday, a new exhibit highlights the experiences of veterans - through their tattoos. The online exhibit features 24 vets and their "War Ink." Organized by the Contra Costa Public Library, it's an unusual way to bring home the stories of returning military service members.
