Thursday, April 30 at 6 p.m. @ KQED | Audio Listening Party with Sarah Jessee
Stories sound better when we listen together. Join KQED’s Podcast Garage for an evening of listening—and discussion—with other audio makers about sound design, structure, and storytelling. Led by Sarah Jessee, audio storyteller, strategist, and alum of the KALW Audio Academy, this listening party will feature a curated selection of radio stories, podcast excerpts, and sound art. The theme of the listening party is “overlooked,” inviting participants to listen for subtle yet effective details in writing style, sound design, and production choices that often go unnoticed. Come mingle and geek out with fellow audiophiles, radio producers, podcasters, and storytellers!
Doors open at 6:00 pm, event starts at 6:30 pm sharp.
About the Speaker:
Sarah Jessee — I’m a strategist and storyteller who’s loved audio — and radio specifically — as long as I can remember. After studying radio documentary at the Salt Institute, I contributed to Snap Judgment and WVTF News before bringing my storytelling skills to the marketing world. I’m happy to be back where I feel I belong: the public radio community.
