Look. We already have the perfect anthem for the moment the 49ers beat Taylor Swift’s boyfriend in this year’s Super Bowl. It’s by Saweetie and P-Lo and it’s called “Do It For the Bay.”
Done. Dusted. Play on repeat.

But there’s another anthem vying for your attention this week. This time by Marin County producer-musician Narada Michael Walden, who, some may recall, was behind the classic 1984 Niners anthem “We’re the 49ers.”
The song utilized manly group vocals, cutting-edge synthesizer techniques, and uplifting lyrics like: “We don’t take no stuff / Everybody knows we’re too tough / And we ain’t gonna stop ’til we get enough.”
Just lifts the spirits, don’t it?
Check out this little slice of early-’80s glory to find out what Reagan-era fans were singing when the 49ers beat the Miami Dolphins in the 1985 Super Bowl:
I think we can all agree that this throwback to a simpler time did not need an update. Nonetheless, Narada Michael Walden has remade his former hit, 40 years later.
The new version utilizes (*checks notes*) manly group vocals, cutting-edge synthesizer techniques, and uplifting lyrics. The best part is when several of the players have their skills broken down. Memorize these lyrics now, so you can unfurl them on Sunday and perplex your gathered family:
“Brandon Aiyuk, with the ladybug on his shoe, catches all the miracle passes that are thrown to him, you dig?”
“Deebo Samuel, cheetah speed, shifty moves make defenders bleed!”
“Kittle, with the fire in his eyes, catches high above the sky!”
And my personal favorite:
“Shanahan schemes! Unstoppable. A man.”
Pure poetry. Listen below:
