San Francisco’s Twin Peaks has long been a popular lookout and hiking spot, thanks to its stunning views, 920 feet above sea level. But this Saturday, Bay Area skaters are taking over.

As part of the ‘Sky Line’ skate contest series, Red Bull will transform the city’s Twin Peaks into a temporary downhill skatepark, and are inviting locals to witness the action — for free.

Bay Area skaters have flocked to Twin Peaks for years. Ever since San Francisco closed the east side to car traffic in 2016, the space has been much friendlier to skate and foot traffic. Now, fans will get to see what 36 of the nation’s top skaters can do with the temporary skate course running along Twin Peaks Boulevard, full of funboxes, ledges and grind rails.

Competitors will be judged by legendary skaters like Chico Brenes, and the event will be hosted by San Francisco’s own Gary Rogers. Though the contest is invite-only to compete, fans can cheer on skaters competing for titles like best trick, best line and fan favorite.

Whether you’re a newbie or a veteran skater, Saturday’s contest offers something for everyone who gets around on four wheels.

Red Bull’s Sky Line contest kicks off on Saturday, Oct. 19, on Twin Peaks Blvd. in San Francisco. Details here.
