On March 7, D’Wayne Wiggins, founding member of the multi-Platinum R&B group Tony! Toni! Toné!, died from complications from bladder cancer. He was 64.

On Thursday, his daughter Ilahn Wiggins announced on social media that a public remembrance for the award-winning Oakland musician will be held on Sunday, April 27 at Geoffrey’s Inner Circle.

“Everyone is invited,” she wrote. “I can’t wait to see all your faces and hear your crazy stories about my dad.”

Ilahn tells KQED that this is an opportunity for the community to celebrate her father’s legacy and enjoy performances from a handful of musicians (the final list is yet to be confirmed).

Wiggins’ family is also planning a large outdoor celebration of Wiggins’ life, in collaboration with the city of Oakland, to be held sometime in May. Details are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
