My name is Leslie Sbrocco and I’m the host of Check, Please! Bay Area. Each week, I will be sharing my tasting notes about the wine, beer, and spirits the guests and I drank on set during the taping of the show. I will also share some wine tips with each episode. This week I discuss: Sparkling Wines
2015 Trinchero “Mary’s Vineyard” Sauvignon Blanc, Napa Valley, California $24
This single-vineyard sauvignon shows the heights the Sauvignon Blanc grape variety can reach in California. More on the melon and tropical fruit scale than citrus/herbal side, it sports a deep minerality that intrigues. Its complexity will appeal to SB fans, while the lack of overt green notes will appeal to Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio drinkers looking to enjoy a great bottle of white. Pair alongside steamed fish in lemon beurre blanc sauce served over jasmine rice.
