The top five mayoral front-runners will lay out their visions for the future of San Francisco in a debate that will be broadcast live on September 19.

London Breed, Mark Farrell, Daniel Lurie, Aaron Peskin and Ahsha Safai are locked in a competitive San Francisco mayoral race with wide-ranging implications for the future of the city. The five candidates will have one of their last opportunities to make their respective cases with voters when they meet up on September 19 at KQED for a debate co-presented by KQED and The San Francisco Chronicle.

The highest-ranked candidates based on the San Francisco Chronicle’s recent polling will share their policies and ideas on topics ranging from homeless and public safety to economic development and post-pandemic recovery for downtown in one of the final mayoral debates before voters cast their ballots on November 5.

Moderated by KQED political correspondent Marisa Lagos and senior editor Scott Shafer and San Francisco Chronicle senior political writer Joe Garofoli, the debate will be broadcast live on KQED Public Television 9, KQED Public Radio 88.5 FM, and via livestream.
