SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Award-winning travel host and director Joseph Rosendo is back with an all-new season of Joseph Rosendo’s Steppin’ Out, premiering on PBS stations nationwide this April. Following the success of his long-running, multi-Emmy®-winning series Joseph Rosendo’s Travelscope, Rosendo brings his signature charm and travel expertise to a fresh set of global and local adventures. Steppin’ Out is made available to public television by KQED Presents, the national distribution service of San Francisco-based public media station KQED.

“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step,” says Rosendo. “And I start each Steppin’ Out episode with this famous Lao Tse quote.”

With a passion for exploring diverse cultures and showcasing the beauty of the world, Rosendo continues to inspire and connect audiences through his captivating travel experiences in his new series. A fresh take on his classic exploration and discovery of new cultures and cuisines, Joseph Rosendo’s Steppin’ Out combines beautiful locations and stunning cinematography with Joseph’s intimate sharing of his philosophy, life and times.

At a time when most people are heading into retirement, Rosendo is kicking into high gear to show his viewers what it means to ‘step out’ in life. In Season 2, he takes viewers on exhilarating journeys—from swimming with penguins in the Galapagos Islands and flying over an active volcano in Iceland, to communing with hippos and lions in Tanzania, and tracing his family roots in Cuba. With every beautiful vista, delicious meal, and conversation, Rosendo brings new perspectives that challenge, enrich, and enliven both travelers and armchair explorers alike.

“I believe that traveling and discovering the world is synonymous with living well at any age,” Rosendo says. “Through shows like Steppin’ Out on public television, a world of knowledge and adventure is accessible to everyone. Travel motivates us to become life-long learners and, to quote Mark Twain, ‘…is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness.’”
