Leslie SbroccoMy name is Leslie Sbrocco and I’m the host of Check, Please! Bay Area. Each week, I will be sharing my tasting notes about the wine the guests and I drank on set during the taping of the show. I will also share some wine tips with each episode.

2009 Breggo “Savoy Vineyard” Pinot Noir, Anderson Valley, California $55
One of northern California’s top vineyards, Savoy is home to plantings of Pinot Noir that produce classic bottlings. The Breggo Savoy showcases purity of fruit, elegance and sheer style. Though it’s delicious now, it will be even better in five years (if you can wait that long!).

2010 Wente “Louis Mel” Sauvignon Blanc, Livermore Valley, California $15
Crisp and fruity, this Bordeaux-style white is named for a French immigrant who transported vines decades ago from France to California. It’s a wine that pairs easily with many dishes– shellfish, salads, and fresh cheeses — but also drinks well alone as a cocktail.
