Musee Mecanique is bringing vintage arcade fun and wackiness to San Francisco! The space, located at Pier 45, has over 300 coin-operated machines and is free to enter. You can spot the owner, Dan Zelinsky, traveling around on roller skates, and find cool (creepy?) animatronics greeting you with laughter – or sometimes a cry!

The humble origins of Musee Mecanique began when Dan’s father, the founder, started collecting coin operated machines when he was just 11 years old. Dan recollects that it all started when his father won a case of oil for a car at a bingo game; after selling the oil to his piano teacher for 50 cents, he bought his first penny-operated machine. His friends and family would pay a penny to play the machine, and once he earned his first 50 cents, he went out and bought another machine, adding more and more to his collection. The rest is history!

(left to right) Caleb, Annelise, and Lauren discuss filming the tour scene at Musee Mecanique.

Our host, Caleb, is joined by plucky contestants Summer and Ryan on this whirlwind tour. And, of course, they’ll compete for the ultimate mediocre prize!
